Lighting Retrofits for Schools
As part of the Efficient and Healthy Schools Campaign, this webinar series provides an opportunity to learn from technical experts and other school districts. This webinar provides access to experts, tools, and resources for schools to get started or further improve lighting to reduce energy costs, while creating healthier and safer spaces for learning.

Jordan Shackelford from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will discuss the campaign’s second round recognition program and projects relevant to lighting, and will highlight useful lighting standards, tools, and guides for schools, such as lighting resources from the Better Buildings Initiative. Jordan will also discuss measurement and verification, along with research that highlights the health and safety benefits of lighting retrofits in schools.

Axel Pearson from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will discuss DOE’s Integrated Lighting Campaign and how schools can be a part of this campaign, highlighting resources and providing an in-depth example of an innovative lighting project at Holt Public Schools, who was recently recognized by the campaign. A participant from the project will discuss considerations for schools who are getting started with lighting retrofits and related projects.
